5 Easy-to-Do Hairstyles for Your Toddler

Black Tutu and Black Excess Hair ClipFinding practical hairstyles that will work on your toddler daughter need not be a challenge. In fact, here are 5 options that are not only quick and easy to do, but that will make your daughter look as cute and adorable as possible at the same time.

      #1 – Traditional Pigtail

This is by far the easiest style to use on most toddler girls. Not only can it be created quickly; it is also known for being extremely cute, especially when the hair is only just long enough to place in pig tails. Start by gathering everything needed, such as a soft brush and a few elastics. Brush your daughter’s hair gently and divide it into sections. Place each section through an elastic and secure it firmly (not too tightly, as it will pull the hair). When the time comes to remove each pigtail, simply break the elastics instead of pulling them out – there will be far fewer tears this way.

      #2 – Quick Fringe Braid

If your toddler is not keen on the idea of sitting still for more than a few minutes at a time, but you want to keep her fringe out of her eyes, braiding just her fringe area can help achieve this goal relatively quickly. Once the fringe braid is complete and the end has been secured with elastic, pull it gently towards the back of the head and accent it with accessories like adorable baby hair headbands.

      #3 – Parted Pony Tail

This style is extremely quick and easy to pull off in that all you will need is hair elastics and a hair brush. Create a side path by brushing the hair to one side of the head. Once all of the hair has been bunched to the one side, gather it together in your hand and wrap the elastic around it, creating a side pony tail. Once again, ensure that the hair is not being pulled too tightly in the elastic.

      #4 – Center Twisted Pigtail

With this hairstyle, you will need two hair elastics and a comb or soft brush. Part your daughter’s hair down the middle, and once this is done, take each section of the hair and give it a few gentle twists round and round before placing it into a pigtail towards the side of her head. Not only will this look incredibly adorable; it will also help keep any wayward hair out of her eyes while she is out and about or playing.

#5 – The Simple Headband Style

When all else fails and your toddler is having nothing to do with sitting still even for a minute, it will probably be a good idea to make use of accessories like baby hair headbands or pretty glitter bows for toddlers to add a girly touch without causing any tears or frustration (for you and her). Simply place a cute headband into her hair to keep it out of her face and use a few glitter bow clips to add a fashionable touch to it.

Evening Hairstyle Ideas for Little Girls

      Points to Consider

Before choosing an evening hairstyle for a little girl, it’s important to take into consideration the amount of hair she has, whether it is thin or thick and if she is old enough (or willing) to keep any accessories like glitter bows or glitter hair clips in for the duration of the evening. When it comes to little girls who are between the ages of 3 and 5 years, it is normally best to stick with styles that are as simple as possible. This will ensure that washing and styling their hair doesn’t take longer than a few minutes at the most.

      Short or Long Bobs

These are one of the easiest hairstyles to maintain on little girls in the 3 to 5 year age bracket, and including a few pretty accessories like a heart-embellished headband or a few velvet and glitter-covered snap clips will help keep any stray fringe or other hair firmly and comfortably in place. Another option that can help add a glamorous touch to this evening hairstyle is small snap clips that have been decorated with sequined stars. Each of these options will help keep the hair in place without it being uncomfortable or tight in any way.

      Short Pixie Cut

In most cases, parents of little girls aged 3 to 5 are looking for styles that are relatively simple, but still cute and elegant. Opting for the short pixie cut will ensure that there are no tears when the time comes to styling and/or placing any round glitter bows velvet and glitter ribbon snappy clips in the hair to keep the fringe out of the eyes.  Even though this design is generally short all around, a cute triple heart headband can be inserted to add just the right finishing touch.

      Side Sweep of Curls

Although many little girls in this age bracket have absolutely beautiful curls, these can be somewhat challenging to style at any time – let alone for an evening event. However, simply brushing the hair, sweeping it all to one side of the head and securing it in place with a few pretty glitter hair accessories such as tuxedo glitter bow pinch clips. These will keep the hair to the side and another clip can be used to ensure that no hair falls into the eyes.

When trying to choose an evening hairstyle idea for a little girl between 3 and 5 years of age, it is important to remember that she will already have a few preferences of her own, which should be taken into account as well. If she doesn’t enjoy dressing up too much, it will be best to stick with styles that are simpler and that will require the use of as few hair accessories as possible.

Hair Accessories to Impress Your Child

      Trendy Twist Pastel Collection

Hair ribbons are something that almost every child experiments with at some point in their youth. Most of them find that they like the different colors and styles the bows offer and enjoy them throughout childhood. The Trendy Twist Pastel Collection offers kids a chance to play with styles and combine many different colors as well. Each style bow is made up of two bows – a tiny one with a grosgrain ribbon and a larger one with a twist in the middle. These are simple to use and a great way to get your child into hair styling.

      Flower Crown

Every little girl wants to be a princess, and what better crown to show off this desire than one made of beautiful flowers? The Flower Crown is adjustable, so it can fit heads as small as the average six-month-old but can be expanded to fit a toddler’s head as well. There’s even room to adjust it further so it can fit the head of a young woman or an adult. This is a great chance for a mommy to play dress-up with her child and show off how much fun hair accessories can be. It’s easy to use and provides both flexibility and fun.

      Dahlia Headbands

If your child loves flowers, Dahlia Headbands provides a way that they can wear flowers in their hair with the ease of a headband. These simple elastic headbands can expand to fit different head sizes, making them something that can grow with your child. The headbands come in a variety of different styles – they can be white or skin colored to make it seem like there’s a simple dahlia in the child’s hair, or they can be patterned to make it more apparent that it’s a headband. You could even add sequins for extra dazzle if you want.

Polka Dot Bunny Ears Top Knot Headband

The Polka Dot Bunny Ears Top Knot Headband provides a bit of style and a lot of fun. The headband has multiple different benefits. First of all, polka dots are a great way to spice up almost any outfit, and they match anything when used in a hair accessory. Second of all, the “bunny ears” aren’t so pronounced that they can’t fit an outfit, but they are large enough to make a child smile, especially if they like the idea of having bunny ears.

When it comes to choosing hair accessories for children, you should look into options that are colorful, entertaining, safe, and easy to put into a child’s hair. Each of the accessories above are extremely popular with children from all over the world. These provide you with a good starting point and can be mixed and matched as you feel appropriate.

3 Cute Christmas Costume Ideas for Little Girls

      #1 – A Christmas Elf

Elves are some of the cutest creatures ever imagined, and if your daughter is a fan of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, then she also knows that they make all of the toys. She will definitely love dressing up as an elf this Christmas. Try red-and-white striped leggings, black Mary Janes, and a pretty Kelly green dress. You can find pointy ears in most costume shops to finish the look, and don’t forget the super rosy cheeks that give elves their glow.

As for her hair, you can leave it down underneath the pointy green hat that elves always wear. To brighten up her ‘do ad add a bit more detail, you can top it all off with some adorable Santa's Elves hair clips with their red ribbed clip, green bow, and pearl accent.

      #2 – An Angel

What little girl wouldn’t love to dress up as an angel? This costume is relatively simple to put together at home. Choose a beautiful white dress, and then fabricate a halo out of decorative pipe cleaners. You can find angel wings in costumes and little girls’ toys sections of department stores all year round, and they come in a variety of colors, too. Pair all of this up with thick white tights for warmth and some cute white shoes, and your angel is complete!

Her hair should tie in with the rest of her outfit, and angels are known for their long, flowing hair. Add a Glitter Velvet Tuxedo bow to the look, and she has a sparkle to match her halo and wings! The bow clips securely to even very fine hair, so it is the perfect addition to an angel costume for a little girl of any age.

      #3 – A Christmas Tree

Dressing up like a Christmas tree is a lot of fun for little girls. Not only do they get to wear a tree-shaped outfit, but they also get to decorate themselves with all of their favorite ornaments. Foam cutouts make the perfect starting point, and they are especially nice because they provide a firm foundation for the ornaments. Paired with green from head to toe, with the exception of some red shoes, it’s every little girl’s dream come true.

Her hair should complement her outfit, and the Tuxedo Fancy Bows in the Party Time pack can certainly help. It comes with three bows in red, green, and white, and they go perfectly with her outfit with a bit of whimsical flair.

No matter what your little girl wants to wear this Christmas, remember to accentuate her hairstyle with a variety of hair accessories. These little clips are incredibly versatile, so your little one can wear them all year long, too.
